This website (dartmoorexplorations.com) is being built as a ‘sister’ to the website (dartmoorexplorations.co.uk).
The reason for having two ‘Dartmoor Explorations’ (DE) websites is because there is a limited bandwidth (ie numbers of files allowed) and with the (DE) concept being having a large photographic record of the National Park, the bandwidth needs to be extended.
The dartmoorexplorations.com website will, moving forward have the posts covering collections of items or features/tracks which cover a larger area . For example, it will contain all the Gazetteer(s), the Calendar, Dartmoor Way, Dartmoor Perambulation, Ancient Tracks and the Dartmoor 1000 project (a record of every single ‘km’ square within the national park).
In order to make this relatively seamless to the user, each site will have ‘hyperlinks’ which will connect the two. The Dartmoor Explorations Logo is also slightly different across the two websites. The original dartmoorexplorations.co.uk website will have GREEN writing on its LOGO and dartmoorexplorations.com website will have RED writing on its LOGO. Some (but not all) of the aforementioned ‘hyperlinks’ will be attached to the LOGO’s enabling the user to click back and forth between the websites.
